Activity 19 of our '20 gifts Under $20' series!! For the avid reader in your life.
Gift #19 – Boujee Book Ends
With your All The Colours paint set already on hand, you’ll need:
- Air Dry Clay - $12
- Craft Glue - $4
Total Spend - $16
Step 1
Break off a piece of clay - around the size of a tennis ball - and roll it out into a long snake. NOTE - you can hide a piece of wire in the middle of this snake if your little one wants to go wild and wiggly with their design and needs extra support while the clay is drying.
Step 2
Wrap the snake around in a circle on the table, and then use the length to create interesting shapes. The goal is to create an 'L' shape when it is side on, so that it can support a book on one side. Repeat the above steps to create the second book end.
Step 3
Once the clay is completely dry - at least 24hrs - set them free painting the book ends with any colours or designs they can conjure! When the paint is dry, mix 1/4 craft glue with 3/4 water and seal their creations (so the paint doesn't get scratched).
And that's it! The book lover in their life will be absolutely chuffed with these DIY beauties!
Happy Creating!
xx
