Festive Paper Ornaments - 17 / 20 DIY Gifts Under $20

Activity 17 of our '20 gifts Under $20' series!! This Christmas must have is set to level-up the kids' festive crafts this season!

Gift #17 – Festive Paper Ornaments

With your All The Colours paint set already on hand, you’ll need:

  1. Thin ribbon or string - $4
  2. Cardboard (or cup) for stencil
  3. Glue stick & craft Glue

Total Spend - $4

Step 1

Start by painting sheets of paper from your All The Colours art pad. The kids can paint patterns, images or whatever their bright little minds can conjure up! Once dry, make a stencil shape (or grab a cup if you want to do circle ornaments) and trace this onto your paper.

Step 2

Next, ask the kids to cut out all their shapes and fold them in half (you might like to help your kids with this step if they're young). Then glue each half to the next piece. Tip: Before you connect the final piece to the first (which will make the ornament one finished piece), remember to place your doubled up ribbon in the middle and secure with craft glue.

Step 3

Once the glue is completely dry you can trim any edges that need a tidy up if you wish.

And that's it! Write the year on it, pop it in some tissue paper and gift to one lucky loved on this Christmas.

Happy Creating!

xx
