Kids Santa Stockings

It's the most wonderful time of the year, and what better way to get into the festive spirit than by making some jolly holiday crafts with the little ones?

This year, why not add a personal touch to your Christmas decorations by creating adorable painted Santa stockings? Not only will this activity keep the kids entertained, but it will also result in some seriously cute stockings that Santa himself won't be able to resist. So grab the paintbrushes and let's get started on this holly jolly project!

What You'll Need:

  • Plain canvas stocking/s
  • Poster Paints
  • Paintbrushes
  • Clear Glue
  • Glitter, sequins, pompoms or any other embellishments

Step 1: Merry Painting

Set the kids free to paint their own designs on one side of their Santa stocking. You can encourage them to cover lots of the fabric, and use their favourite Christmas colours.

TIP: If you're anything like me and want to hang the stockings side-by-side, it's great to have both stockings pointing in the same direction before they start painting...

Step 2: Add Some Christmas Sparkle

Once the paint is mostly dry, bring out the glue and embellishments. Use a small amount of clear glue secure each item. We did first name initials in sequins, followed by a splattering of other patterns.

Step 3: Get Santa Ready!

Leave flat overnight to completely dry - and voila! These painted and decorated Santa stockings are complete, and ready to hang. This activity is not only a fun way to spend quality time with the kids, but it also creates a cherished keepsake that you can bring out year after year. Mark the year on the back so you always remember how talented your little artist was at such a young age!

So grab your little elves and get ready to spread some holiday cheer with this ho ho ho-liday craft!
